C-Murder’s lawyer
Ron Rakosky has been restricted from bringing any materials to jail meetings except
for a pencil and pad under a March 16 agreement, the AP reported. Pens were prohibited
because of their hollowness and ability to hold song lyrics, according to Sheriff
Harry Lee’s attorney. C-Murder recently irked Louisiana authorities after he recorded
segments of his album and music video while behind bars. The New Orleans rapper
is currently incarcerated in Jefferson Parish jail on a second-degree murder charge
of a 16-year-old. His attorney has requested an appeal to review a court’s March
10 ruling that upheld the rapper’s conviction. C-Murder would serve a life sentence
if the conviction is upheld.
Will Smith has teamed up
with actor Jon Voight to help bring an Italian film festival for children to
Los Angeles. The Giffoni Hollywood Film Festival will include more than 20 films
aimed at youngsters and is scheduled to run from April 28 to May 1. "It
will provide a forum for young film enthusiasts and open the doors to Hollywood
for a new generation," said Smith in a statement. Children between the
ages of 9 and 17 from the United States and 15 other countries will serve as
the festival’s judges and jury.
Sean "P. Diddy"
Combs has partnered with Kansas City’s Weld Wheel Industries Inc. to design
his own line of custom rims called Sean John Wheels. The joint project was announced
during the New York International Auto Show March 24. "Wheels have become
a fashion statement — a badge of taste and style," Diddy told the AP.
The rims are intended for sports trucks, luxury SUVs and high-end American-
and German-made vehicles. SJC Wheels LLC will manufacture and sell Diddy’s Sean
John Wheels, which are expected to retail between $700 and $3,000 each beginning
next month.
