How Can I Be Down

Inc. and X/O Management have come together to put on a concert celebrating Hip-Hop’s

pioneers and the impact they have made over the years.

The event will be hosted

by Prince Markie D of The Fat Boys and feature performances from Doug E. Fresh,

Slick Rick, Dana Dane, Chubb Rock, Nice & Smooth and Special Ed.

The concert will be in conjunction

with the famed How Can I Be Down weekend, which will start on Thursday, July

14th.

HCIBD was established in

Miami in 1993 and is known for bringing out some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop.

The event has allowed up-and-comers the opportunity to network and establish

relationships and enabled those new to the business a chance to learn the industry.

This year’s HCIBD will coincide

with The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and will feature informative panels conducted

by leaders within the Hip-Hop Community, including Russell Simmons and Damon

Dash.

The concert will take place

on Sunday, July 17 at Mansion on South Beach. Advance tickets are on sale for

$40 and are available at 136 Collins Ave., Monday through Friday from 11am till

5pm. The first 100 ladies will receive free admission.
