The Source magazine

has appointed a new Editor-in-Chief in Dasun Allah, who will replace former EIC

Joshua "Fahiym" Ratcliffe.

Allah told AllHipHop.com that he would help usher in a new era

for the rap magazine, which has recently experienced several personnel changes.

“I’m just looking to standing on the square, thinking

outside of the box as we move forward. The Source is on the come up,”

he said. “The Lil’ Kim issue speaks for itself. Read the issue.

It’s a brand new day and a brand new Dasun Allah.”

The magazine features an expose on the embattled rapper Lil’

Kim, who reported to prison today (Sept. 19).

In the past, Allah has written a number of powerful pieces for

the New York Village Voice and held a post as The Source’s Senior Editor.

The newly appointed editor-in-chief also offered his reverence

for Ratcliffe, who resigned in August.

“Enough respect

to those that paved the way and put us on the trajectory that we are on,”

he concluded. “Like I said we on the rise.”
