Mogul Damon Dash
and Pro-Keds will launch "Pro-Keds Day" on July 1 as part of a celebrity
basketball tournament taking place during New York’s Kingdome Basketball
Tournament.
The ten-week basketball
competition which is in it’s third week, features top talent from high school,
college and the NBA. For the third year, Dash and Pro-Keds are title sponsors
of the tournament..
Teams such as P.
Diddy’s Fat Joe’s “Terror Squad” Cam’ron and Jim Jones’
“Diplomats” and The Ruff Ryders are vying for the coveted championship.
On July 1, Dash
and Pro-Keds will hand out new limited edition "Kingdome" Pro-Keds,
a brand worn by iconic basketball figures such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, "Pistol"
Pete Maravich and others.
NBA stars expected
to attend include Ron Artest and Francisco Garcia of the Sacramento Kings, Rafer
Alston of the Houston Rockets, Sebastian Telfair of of the Portland Trailblazers
and others.
The Kingdome Basketball
Tournament is taking place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers at 115th Street
and Lenox Avenue in Harlem.
Dash and Pro-Keds
will hand out the free sneakers Saturday, July 1st starting at 5 PM.
