Hit making producer/rapper Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes will perform in front of an estimated one million people, as the headlining act during the Live Brazil Concert in Rio De Janeiro.

 

Representatives from Live Earth announced the line up for the Brazilian leg of the 7-continent, 24-hour concert, which takes place on July 7, 2007.

 

Other performers on the Live Brazil concert bill include Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray, Jota Quest, XuXu, Vanessa Da Matta and others.

 

Brazil is the only country in the Live Earth series of concerts that is free and open to the public, on the legendary Copacabana Beach.

 

Organizers expect to draw over a million people to the concert in Brazil, while the Live Earth concerts are expected to draw over 2 billion viewers from across the globe.

 

The concert series is aimed at raising awareness about global warming and other global climate issues.

 

Live Earth starts in Sydney, Australia and continues across all 7 continents, with events in Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Hamburg, Germany; London, United Kingdom; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

Live Earth concludes at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium in the United States.
