A Tribe Called Quest rapper Q-Tip hopes to make a bang with his official return to the rap game on Wednesday (July 4) with the release of his new song, “WorkItOut.”

The single, which will be available to download and stream for free at www.myspace.com/qtipmusic on Wednesday, is the first song off of Q-Tip’s forthcoming album, The Renaissance.

“‘WorkItOut’ is a feel-good song. It is indicative of The Renaissance; thought-provoking, dance-friendly, fun and last but not least Hip-Hop,” Q-Tip told AllHipHop.com in a statement.

The Renaissance is the follow up to Q-Tip’s unreleased 2002 album Kamaal The Abstract.

The rapper’s debut solo release, Amplified, featured the hit singles “Vivrant Thing” and “Breathe and Stop.”

Most recently, Q-Tip has collaborated with a host of artists on a variety of projects, including Hi-Tek, Busta Rhymes, Janet Jackson, RZA, Mariah Carey and Rhymefest.

As for The Renaissance, The Motown Records release will include a mix of samples and a live band.

The Renaissance is scheduled to arrive in stores in October.
