Atlanta rapper Jermaine Dupri and St. Louis rapper Nelly will do battle against one another this weekend – on the basketball court.
The pair will square off at the Georgia State College Arena this Saturday (July 21) during Jermaine Dupri’s annual So So Def Summer Fest 2007.
Dupri’s So So Def All Stars will face Nelly’s Derrty Ent. All Stars on the basketball court as the highlight event of So So Def Summer Fest, which takes place in various locations throughout Atlanta.
“We are definitely going to win this year cause they beat us last year,” Dupri told AllHipHop.com. It’s a very serious game, no laying around this year…they beat us last year because A.O. [Aaron Owens] from the AND1 team jumped in and gave them a little push, but that’s aight, cause we got something for yall this year and if yall want to see it you have to be there…it’s a great event for all ages.”
Dupri has lined up an all-star weekend featuring rappers and celebrities like Kanye West, Fabolous, Common, Chingy, Too $hort, Larenz Tate and others to take place in the weekend, takes place Friday (July 20)-Sunday (July 22).
The event kicks off with the “So So Def Streets On Lock Concert” featuring Fabolous, Souljah Boy, Hot Dolla and others.
Other events include “The Welcome to Atlanta – Can’t Tell Me Nothing Party” at Opera, which will be hosted by Jermaine Dupri and Kanye West on Friday (July 20), “The So So Def Yall Know What This Is” at the Uptown Comedy Club and “The So So Sexy All White Affair” at Compound on Saturday (July 21), which will be hosted by Jermaine Dupri, Nelly and Larenz Tate.
The weekend will end with a celebrity Barbeque/pool party and a finale event at undisclosed location.
