SAD SAD SAD NEWS!

I don’t know if you all are familiar with Anwan “Big G” Glover, but he is an actor that plays Slim Charles on “The Wire.” He’s also a member of the Backyard Band (B.Y.B), which is a go-go band in DC. Well, the sad news is that his brother was murdered trying to broker a peace treaty between two rival gangs in the Washington DC area. Big G has urged people not to retaliate and he’s going to keep on encouraging the youth to do better. In the past, Big G was shot 13 times but has gone on to become one of my favorite actors on one of my favorite shows. Rest in Peace to Tayvon – Big G’s younger brother. He was fighting for peace and people didn’t let him.

CHINGO BLING DISSES NAS

This definitely goes in the , “Who cares” files, but I think Chingo Bling is one funny hombre. For that reason, I will tell you that he’s recently dissed Nas on a new mixtape joint to the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” beat and on his new album.

On his new album, he says:

“Hey Nas, hey Nas we heard what you said/ You just mad cause we hoggin’ all the bread/ This s**t ain’t dead”

Then he has a freestyle over the “U Can’t Tell Me Nothing” instrumental and he says:

“And says she (Hip-Hop) don’t like Jeezy’s s**t/ If Wayne was from Brooklyn you would be all on Weezy’s d**k.”

I will NOT offer my opinions on this, but I will leave it in the hands of my people! Comment away!

TONI IS COOL

Toni Braxton had a scare, but she doesn’t have breast cancer. Now, I feel much better about that, because I didn’t want to see anything happen to her or her beautiful breasts. Here is the statement:

“There has been a rumor circulating that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. After feeling something uncomfortable in my left breast, I went in for a screening. I was very fortunate that they did not find anything and I am in great health. However, I encourage women to take their annual tests and suggested precautions to prevent this disease that continues to affect so many women.”

THE JENA 6 – GRAFH SPEAKS

I told you I was getting these rappers talking about the Jena 6. My man Grafh is one of the few rappers in the mainstream that has opted to speak up. Click here to watch Grafh express himself over the matter. I’m still getting at Bun B on it. Rappers, stop being b-words!

WUTANG CLAN AIN’T NOTHIN’ TO F**K WITH!!!!

Damn, this really reminded me why I love Wu Tang Clan! I told you about that Wu Tang scrap yesterday! Here is the video of them getting into a lil’ “tiff” with a fan that said, “F**k Wu Tang!” Oh yea, here is our interview with Raekwon, where he talks about his Cuban Linx 2 and other cool stuff.

Peace to Ed Sizaleen!

KANYE’S BIG PREVIEW

After previewing the new album to the entire world, Kanye West finally let the Americans hear GRADUATION! I heard a lot of stuff happened and one of my close pals sent me some stuff for you al to mull over.

YO! Illseed, I was in the Kanye West party and the dudes’ CD is bananas. There were enough bananas to feed the Gorilla Unit! LMBAO! Seriously, it pretty hot. I saw people like Stephen Hill from BET going crazy. Sway was there, Consequence was there, LA Reid and his son were there. Like every industry person in the whole NYC was there. Ye has a lotta weird for no reason fans, but it was a cool atmosphere. Anyway, no real drama, but there was no photography allowed. Still, there were people taking pics and vid so I’m sure you’ll get something on youtube.

Here are some quotes from the listening party:

“I’d put super good rappers and spend a month and a half trying to beattheir verse”

(So, he said on this one, he didn’t listen to anybody that was featured on the CD ‘til after he laid his verse.)

“If I wanna make a classic album maybe I will save that (skits) for the podcast.”

(The album had no skits. It SEEMED like he was saying that the skits detracted from the last albums.)

“Or that my presales are way higher than….”

(50 CENT? One of the few references to Curtis.)

“Rappers are like the modern day preachers of out time. “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” is like a prayer.”

(A prayer? OK. It’s  a hot song, but a prayer? A prayer for money!)

“I was on tour with u2 (stunt) and I was talking to Bono (stunt).”

(He did plenty of stuntin’ in the interview, but it was all in fun.)

“My music is from NY.”

(His music is very much inspired by NY, is what the Chi-towner was saying. Preemo is on the album, so is Mos Def. Heck, there is an Ode to Jay-Z!)

“I want to be the No 1 artist in the world.”

(So this is why the UK and Germany heard the CD before the US? He’s expanding beyond only the States.)

“I need to get on the phone with them so they do not f**k up.”

(Calling all album reviewers. Kanye wants to talk to you BEFORE you review the album!)

“I’m going back for my 5 mics, I don’t care if it’s over or not.”

(He didn’t leave some mics at the house either.)

“That’s why I got the hottest joint in the hood with some tight jeans on.”

(Tight jeans are wack no matter how hot “Can’t Tell Me Nothing Is.”)

(He explains what Jay said when he talked about the song “Big Brother.”) “Jay hit me and said, u don’t know who I am? And he said, “I’m your Big Brother.” That’s the vibe (of the song), it was like a big brother, there’s up and downs.”

(He stated his music was neither negative nor positive and it simply captured where he was at a certain moment.)

(Here he talks about why he was never bestowed the Roc in the way Memphis Bleek and Beans were.) “They asked jay, ‘Why u don’t give Kanye The Roc?” (Here is said that a lot of The Roc was guns and thuggery.) “That’s what Roc-a-Fella is. I was on Roc-a-Fella and every I walk in with Italian shoes, every day I don’t walk in with a jersey on. But I had them hits though.”

(Here he comments on 50 Cent bumrushing the stage at the Scream tour in NYC)

“[It] Felt aiiight (with all the legends on stage – 50 Cent, Diddy, TI, Jay-Z)…would of felt better to be on stage like me and Jay like planned.”

“Think about the mtv, 7 down list.”

(He dissed the mtv’s hottest list.)

“This album is whiter than any album I ever did…its also blacker.”

(I forget what he meant by this.)

“This is the first time we let the press do all the work.”

(Instead of dissing the press, Kanye said he has allowed the press to fuel the fake beef between him and 50 Cent. It would seem that 50 is doing that just fine.)

(A few people asking questions kept wanting to know about 50 Cent. Here is the Kanye reply to this 50 comment.)

“You trying to hit me with the controversy joint. I’ma put it like this. If 50 ain’t have that “I Got Money” record, I wouldn’t have come out on the same day. I think it is a competition with that (on the market).”

(Basically, he was saying that all 50’s other records were wack until that one dropped.)

“I like it all. I don’t know how to do that properly. “

(He likes to listen to songs that have rappers sparring, but he’s not the type to beef.)

“Before I got started, I heard this group called Little Brother, I got scared.”

(He said he had a lane and he thought Little Brother was going to take his spot before he got there so he hurried and got that spot. LOL!)

THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE KATRINA TRAGEDY!

I was sent this song. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years and New Orleans in still messed up. How ill is that? People need to be mad at that instead of all the media distractions. So, if you want to get MAD at something, click here and peep this TIMELINE of the whole s**t.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Yung Joc is apparently married and this is apparently common knowledge in Atlanta. That means that the D. Woods rumor is false, because it is.

I refuse to believe that Rihanna and Shia Labouf (“Transformers”) are an item. This puts Ri Ri sleeping with about three guys in just one month. Girls just wanna have fun.

Trick Daddy comments on the Mike Vick situation…LMAO! Go Trick Daddy – Go! Trick Daddy would have taken that lil’ time in jail for his homey! Trick is a wild guy!

Not a lot going on in the rumors today. Maybe something will happen in the day.

NICE POSITIVE MESSAGE

HEY YA IS STILL HOT!

Check this crazy mess out! The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra do their version of Andre 3000’s “Hey Ya!”
