Rapper The Game continues to be a free man after a judge dismissed charges against him pertaining to an incident where the rapper impersonated a police officer.
Reuters reports the judge in the case ruled Thursday (Sept. 20) that the charges would be dismissed in six months if the Game stays out of trouble.
“I love New York, but I hate the system,” the smiling rapper said after a brief hearing at New York State Supreme Court. “But, I hate every system.”
The Game(born Jayceon Terrell Taylor) was arrested in November after identifying himself to a private car service driver as an undercover cop.
According to complaint filed, Taylor instructed the driver to drive through a series of red lights.
Although he came out on top in the New York case, Taylor still faces three felony charges in California for a February incident in which he is accused of pulling a gun during a basketball game in Los Angeles.
If convicted, the rapper will face up to five years in jail.
Taylor isn’t the only rapper avoiding life behind bars.
Fellow rapper Snoop Dogg, who pleaded guilty to one count of felony possession of a dangerous weapon in a California court, was sentenced to 160 hours community service and three years probation.
According to the Snoop’s lawyer, Donald Etra, future courtroom appearances are the last thing on the rapper’s mind.
“We are very pleased with the outcome. Snoop’s goal is to make music, not make court appearances,” Etra said. “He wants to get on with his life. He will continue his music and his filming and performing.”
Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Broadus) was arrested last year after he was found carrying a collapsible baton in his hand luggage at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.
In addition to the community service and probation, the rapper was ordered to donate $5,000 to the charity Right Trak.
