For over four years, AllHipHop has hosted the Social Lounge, an ongoing series of discourse about issues in the Hip-Hop community. Last week, AllHipHop’s Social Lounge – a part of AllHipHop Week 2007 -was as ill as advertised. It offered a fervent, productive discussion between radio host Wendy Williams, rappers David Banner, Pharaohe Monch, Master P and scholar Dr. Cornel West. The event was hosted by AHH’s own Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and Pace University.

The second portion of the conversation was with Dr. West and Tex and Rene of Timezone International in a very enlightening talk about American Hip-Hop and its affect on the rest of the world.

Below, you will find pictures and video from the Social Lounge. All images were taken by Djamilla Rosa Cochran of WireImage. Also, click here to see the Social Lounge Summary with a performance by Saigon.

Master P joins the discussion and the heat gets turned up.

More Master P and Banner…

Cornel West breaks it down to the very last compound and Banner clear the air on his views about Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Monch is chillin,’ always chillin – what more can he say?

Master P and Banner really got into it during the Social Lounge. It appeared to be personal.

Before the Mobb Deef fiasco, Siagon performed his most positive songs and spoke to the crowd about his views on the issues.

Hip-Hop is now a worldwide phenomenon and Tex and Rene of Timezone International discussed how it is going down in other parts of the Earth.

Dr. West, who is also an MC, brushes his shoulders off.
