Despite his current legal troubles, rapper T.I. continues to make an impact on the music scene, by working with R&B songbird Tweet.

The pair collaborated on “Good Bye My Dear,” a song from Tweet’s forthcoming album Love, Tweet on Jeryl Busby’s Umbrella Records.

In addition to producing the song, T.I. appears on the track.

“‘Good Bye My Dear’ has that Atlanta sound, which I like,” said Tweet, who seized the opportunity to work with the self-proclaimed “King of the South.”

“Marz [the producer] called me one night and asked me to come by the studio, Grand Hustle, and it just happened,” Tweet revealed. “I always wanted to work with T.I. and didn’t know how soon it would happen. But the opportunity came about and I went for it!”

In addition to T.I., Love, Tweet will feature production from Nisan Stewart, Warren Campbell, and Novel who has produced the album’s official first single “Anymore.”

The singer, who was among the performers who recently honored VH1 Hip Hop Honors recipient Missy Elliott, is best best known for hit song “Oops (Oh My).”

News of T.I.’s contribution to Tweet’s album comes on the heels of the 27-year-old rapper’s recent arrest for federal gun charges, just hours before his scheduled appearance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., will remain in federal custody until a bond hearing on Friday (Oct. 26) over accusations that he attempted to purchase machine guns and silencers.

Love, Tweet, the follow-up to Tweet’s 2005 album It’s Me Again, is slated to hit stores on April 8, 2008.
