Philadelphia rapper Dice Raw has teamed with The Roots’ front man Black Thought to form a new group, The Money Making Jam Boys, which also features rappers Truck North and P###.
Dice Raw, Karlos Jenkins, has been putting in long hours in the recording studio preparing material for MMJB’s upcoming debut release, in addition to a slew of his own solo projects.
“It’s pure East Coast Hip-Hop in the tradition of the greats who came before us, breaking some rules and creating new ones as we go along,” Dice Raw told AllHipHop.com. “MMJB is pure East Coast fire, it’s a mindset and a way of life.”
In addition to recording the untitled follow up to his 2000 solo debut album Reclaiming the Dead, Dice Raw will expand his musical horizon’s with his New Wave/Hip-Hop project, Nouveau Riche.
“It‘s new world music [with] so many influence, fans can expect almost anything,” Dice Raw stated. “It’s a labor of love and we do what we got to do to get it done.”
In the coming weeks, Dice Raw will be featured on a new song featuring Black Thought and Peedi Crack, which will be accompanied by a video.
Dice Raw will release a number of digital tracks next month from his solo project, MMJB and Nouveau Riche.
