A childhood friend and associate of Hip-Hop star Fabolous was stabbed to death inside a New York nightclub Duvet early Friday morning (November 23).

According to police, an unrelated fight broke out between two women yesterday morning inside Duvet, a popular nightclub located on W. 21st Street, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan.

Police in front of the club saw Shamel McKinney, 25, stumble out of the club, bleeding from multiple stab wounds around 3:30 am.

Witnesses have revealed that as the two women fought, three men attacked McKinney, who wore a medallion featuring Fabulous’ Street Family Crew logo.

He  later died from his stab wounds at nearby Saint Vincent’s hospital at 4:10 am.

Police found a 7-inch folding knife covered in blood in a dumpster near the club.

It was unclear how the weapon was smuggled into the club, but police are reviewing surveillance footage for clues.

Members of Fabolous’ family said that he celebrated Thanksgiving in New Jersey, but police are seeking to interview the rapper regarding the incident.

According to reports, McKinney pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell on September 2006 and was slated to be sentenced on December 6.
