A 26-year-old has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a childhood friend of rapper Fabolous to death inside of a Manhattan nightclub last month.

Anthony Taylor , 26, was apprehended in Atlanta and is being accused of stabbing 25-year-old Shamel McKinney outside of Duvet, a trendy club in the city’s troubled Flatiron district.

Police claim that McKinney was part of Fabolous’ Street Family, a group of alleged criminals that robbed celebrities and entertainers of their expensive jewelry.

Authorities believe that McKinney may have tried to snatch Taylor’s $10,000 chain on November 23, which resulted in a scuffle between the two men.

When the dispute carried over outside, Taylor allegedly stabbed McKinney in the chest and back with a 7-inch switchblade knife that was eventually found in a dumpster near the club.

Relatives for Taylor said that he worked in the rap industry and sold his own CD’s on the street.

Police continue to investigate if Fabolous was at the club the evening of the robbery.

The rapper, born John Jackson, denied being connected to a street organization.

“I would like my fans and supporters worldwide to know how disappointed I am in some of the media for the misrepresentation and abuse of my name,” Fabolous told AllHipHop.com in a statement issued on December 4. “I do not want the young people who listen to my music and watch my videos to believe that I am engaged in any illegal activities that would discredit my character.” Despite his denial, police continue to investigate.
