The achievement, which Soulja Boy attributes to his fans, makes him the first artist to collect 3 million downloads of a digital track/song as a teenager.

“I can’t thank my fans enough, without them all of this wouldn’t have been possible. The support they give me is beyond incredible,” said Soulja Boy. “I have so many Soulja Boy Tell’em projects ready and I will continue to give them what they need in 2008.”

Soulja Boy’s latest accomplishment comes as the rapper garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song for “Crank That.”

The song spent seven weeks at number one on the Hot 100 chart and has also sold more than 3 million ringtones.

Additionally, the “Crank That” music video has been viewed 28 million times on YouTube, while the single’s instructional dance video has been viewed 22 million times.

To date, Soulja Boy’s debut album, Souljaboytellem.com has sold more than 658,000 copies.

The rapper’s new video for his third single, “Yahhh!” (featuring Arab), premiered this week on BET’s “Access Granted” and Yahoo! Music.

“Soulja Boy has set the bar for what’s possible in terms of breaking an artist online,” Interscope Geffen A&M Records president of sales and marketing Steve Berman stated. “He’s been doing it since day one, before he was signed here, so I’m not surprised he’s setting a record today. Soulja Boy is out there on the frontier, showing everyone else what’s possible.”
