With the New Year, there are tons of new gadgets and gizmos.  Some are trash and some make you “wanna cop” that right now.  I’ve put together a list of a few I have run across, so let me know what you think of them.

The first thing I want to show you is a set by a company with a name that is synonymous with personal safety: TASER®.

The C2 is their latest personal protection product. Each cartridge is good for 50 uses and is available in four colors that make 50,000 volts a little stylish.  You can go from a classic gray to a racy leopard print…

And what is the point of your new toy if you can’t keep it easily within reach? You’re going to need a holster. TASER® came up with the MPH (Music Player Holster), a 1 GB mp3 player.

Now you can keep your tunes and security in one place… hopefully you only need one.

Next, here’s a little green tech for all you who want to be up on the latest and still do your part to protect the earth. Check out the Voltaic Generator – the first solar bag powerful enough to charge a laptop and other popular small electronics from one day of sunlight.

The included battery pack efficiently stores the equivalent of a typical laptop charge and automatically delivers the required output voltages

Common adaptors are included for easy connection to laptops, phones and other handheld electronics

Other devices can connect via USB or car charger

Will hold up to a 17″ Powerbook inside a protective case

Fabrics made from recycled PET (soda bottles), which is tough, water resistant and light weight

For those of you who think laptops just aren’t small enough, Samsung’s latest UMPC (Ultra Micro PC) will have you jumping for tech joy.  It’s called the Q1 Ultra, and it allows you to bring your office with you in a yet more compact package.
