Detroit rocker Kid Rock has teamed up with Hip-Hop Icon Rev Run of Run-DMC for the Rock ‘N Roll Revival tour.

The 29 city tour will start in Evansville, Indiana on January 25 and will wrap up in Toledo, Ohio on March 22nd.

According to Rev Run, the tour came about after Kid Rock spent time at the Simmons’ home, which was filmed and aired during this season’s#### television series Run’s House.

During the episode, Kid Rock bonded with Run’s children.

“We’ve become very close friends so we decided to tour together,” Rev Run told AllHipHop.com. “Our first show together was closing out New Year’s, while MTV dropped the ball live. We did [Run-DMC’s 1984 hit] ‘King of Rock!’ Saturday we performed together at the GM Fashion event. The tour should be a blast! He’s a very nice guy. Very funny! And fun!”

In addition to appearances by Rev Run, Kid Rock will also feature performances by The Allman Brothers Band’s Dickey Betts, and J. Geils Band Frontman Peter Wolf on selected dates.

These stars are expected to join Rock not as opening acts, but on stage together with Kid’s expanded 11-piece ensemble, the Twisted Brown Trucker Band.

“We want to give people the greatest night of their life,” Kid Rock said in a statement, “[We want to give people] the best party, the best music, the best show. And this show does all that and more.”

The “Rock ‘N Roll revival tour will kick off on January 25th in Evansville Indiana with Rev Run.
