Legendary Juice Crew members Craig G. and Marley Marl have teamed up to create a new album, titled Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop.

The new album from Craig. G., a 20-plus-year veteran, features guest appearances by a number of notable acts, including Talib Kweli, Rakaa of Dilated Peoples, Sadat X, KRS-One and others.

Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop is just what it is,” Craig G. told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Instead of me wasting years complaining along with journalists and everyone else, Marley and I are trying to make change through music.”

The album is the first release Marley Marl has worked on since his successful collaboration with KRS-One on 2007’s Hip-Hop Lives.

Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop will be released by Philadelphia-based label, Good Hands Records, which has previously released albums by Camp-Lo, Killah Priest, Kurupt and Tangled Thoughts, Reef The Lost Cauze, Chief Kamachi and others.

“To be able to work with legends like Craig G and Marley Marl is such a privilege,” said Good Hands Records president DJ Truth. “The album is exceptional, I would be stunned if it is not considered one of this years best.”

In addition to his own storied career, Craig G., who’s known for his freestyling and battling abilities, wrote most of the battle lyrics in Eminem’s#### movie 8 Mile.

“This is my passion, this is what raised me, and I refuse to stand by and watch my culture get destroyed any further with poor quality music,” Craig G. added.

Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop is due in stores later this Spring.
