Houston’s Big Pokey has inked a deal with indie powerhouse Koch Records and is prepping the release of two albums in 2008.

The first, Evacuation Notice, is due out July 22.

The new album features a who’s who of Houston’s Hip-Hop elite, including Slim Thug who appears on the first single, “Boss Hogg on Candy.”

Also appearing on Evacuation Notice are Bun B, Paul Wall, Lil Keke, Trae, Z-Ro and the late Big Moe, who passed away last year.

An original member of the Screwed Up Click, Big Pokey rose to prominence in Houston through multiple appearances on DJ Screw mixtapes in the early 90s.

He released his first album, Hardest Pit in the Litter in 1999, and followed it up a year later with D-Game in 2000.

While he has worked with some of the most successful artists to come out of Houston, Big Pokey is probably best known outside of his hometown for his 2005 appearance on Paul Wall’s#### single “Sittin’ Sidewayz.”

Pokey’s second Koch release, Hurricane Sensei, is due out later this year.
