The Wu-Tang Clan’s Masta Killa has become the latest artist to be recruited by peta2 in their efforts to encourage teens to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle.

The rapper has recorded a new PSA for the organization, sharing his experience with the lifestyle, which he adopted 13-years-ago.

In an exclusive interview for peta2, Masta Killa explained his respect for life, crediting his grandmother for teaching him to appreciate animals.

He also used the PSA to introduce fans to his 4-year-old son, Eternal, who has been vegetarian since birth.

“Growing up, I was taught to love and respect all life,” he explained. “Now that I’m a parent, I’m teaching my son to love and respect all life too. We don’t think that any creature should have to suffer or die for our dinner when there are so many other foods for us to choose from.”

The rapper, who is currently working on his fourth solo album, also reflected on his career and his views on fur.

“Fur being viewed as a luxury item in the Hip-Hop community is totally wrong,” he added. “You have to think about how many animals were destroyed for you to have a fashion statement, and that’s not right at all.”

As a special incentive to fans, viewers who check out the new Masta Killa PSA online at peta2.com can register to win one of five free copies of the latest Wu-Tang Clan album, Soundtracks From the Shaolin Temple.

Established as the world’s largest youth animal rights organization, peta2 has often reached out to members of the Hip-Hop community in their quest to inspire kids to challenge outdated, cruel attitudes about animals.

Previous collaborators have included Murs, Dead Prez, and Mr. Lif, as well as Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons.
