Big Pooh, one half of the critically-acclaimed duo Little Brother, has announced an innovative, 4-version street album entitled Delightful Bars.
Originally developed as a mixtape, Pooh began viewing the project as a legit album after several productive studio sessions with producers and guest emcees.
This is some of my best work to date as a solo artist, Pooh explained to AllHipHop.com. I started off recording for a mixtape, but I have a plethora of material that deserved a presentation much larger than a mixtape. Delightful Bars was born from the Dirty Pretty Things, Rapper’s Delight, and The Recipe recording sessions. The fans will find that this project serves as the perfect bridge between Sleepers and my upcoming sophomore solo album Dirty Pretty Things.
Sleepers, released in 2005, was Poohs official solo debut.
The new album features productions from Oh No, 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Jake One, Illmind, Young RJ, and the Co-Op.
At press time, the guest spots are confined to Poohs Justice League colleagues: Joe Scudda, Chaundon, Jozeemo, Big Dho, and Darien Brockington.
The 4 different versions will derive from two main copies.
The first is dubbed Candy Apple, and will be a special iTunes-only release.
The second is named North American Pie, and will serve as the retail outlet copy.
The lead single, The Comeback, is produced by regular-collaborator Khrysis.
The iTunes version of Delightful Bars will be available on March 24.
The retail incarnation hits stories May 5.
