Beyonce – “Poison”

What’s up everybody? Hope all is well. I came across some interesting new music this week. I got my hands on two new Chris Brown tracks, even heard some new Bobby Valentino and Tank, but the track from Beyonce titled “Poison” I received was the most noteworthy this week.

”Poison” found its way onto DJ Haze’s Big R&B Ego Mixtape and its looks like a lot of people are wondering where this song came from. From what I understand the song didn’t make the cut for I Am Sasha Fierce, but after listening I’m wondering why not.

The overall theme of the song puts me in the mind of a hit from R&B group Bell Biv Devoe circa 1990 that was also titled “Poison”, but doesn’t fair the potential to be a number one song like it did close to 20 years ago. Even though the song doesn’t seem like it would be a chart topper it does seem album worthy. Its something most can relate to if you’ve ever been in a relationship. Beyonce sings about a failed relationship that’s no good, but yet is so hard to walk away from and ends up being just like “Poison.”

I’m curious to know what you think about this song. Let me know.

Well y’all thanks for taking time out to read what I had to say.

Until next week check out this week’s Sunday Selection – “Poison”.
