This week’s Footage Fa Dayz features none other than Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z during a performance in 1998.
This clip was taken during a concert at the Cobo Arena in downtown Detroit, which also featured Cam’ron, Tela and R&B group Xscape.
Check out a Young Jay-Z on the stage alongside Roc-A-Fella founder Damon Dash and the label’s top rapper at the time, Memphis Bleek.
The concert dubbed “Super Showcase ‘98,“ was held in partnership with the Detroit Public Schools’ City-Wide Student Council, to spread positive messages to the city’s young people.
A lot has happened since the three shared this stage in 1998.
Jay-Z and Damon Dash have parted ways and no longer speak, Roc-A-Fella Records was sold, Roc Nation was born.
Jay-Z has gone on to become the greatest rapper to ever live.

Damon Dash will be featured in the upcoming documentary Bring Your A Game, which premieres Saturday, September 12, AT 9:00 P.M on BET. Dame is featured along side stars like Sean “Diddy” Combs, Ice Cube, Kevin Liles and Spike Lee, dispensing advice on what it takes to succeed in life.
Memphis Bleek recently launched his own record label Get Low Records and will release The Process on November 24. The album is executive produced by his homie, Jay-Z.
