While her latest appearance on wax has sparked some rumors, Chicago-based femcee Shawnna seems to remain very much a part of Ludacris’s Disturbing Tha Peace.

All parties involved are officially staying mum, however, with Ludacris declining to comment, and his business partner, DTP CEO Chaka Zulu telling AllHipHop.com he “does not know” her status.

The most recent round of speculations surrounding Shawnna’s status started late last month.

On “Dope,” the newest leak from T-Pain’s forthcoming RevolveR, he prefaces Shawnna’s verse with “Ladies and Gentlemen, I wanna introduce y’all to the newest member of the Nappy Boy Fam.”

On Tuesday (October 6), video footage of a recent T-Pain performance surfaced online during which he once again introduces Shawnna as Nappy Boy Entertainment’s latest signee.

Yet, the previous day, an executive at DTP told AllHipHop.com that Shawnna is “forever DTP” and confirmed that the label’s A&R’s are still accepting submissions for her future projects.

This is not the first time Shawnna’s status at Disturbing Tha Peace has been unclear.

In an April 2007 interview, Shawnna announced her amicable split from the label stating that she was looking forward to continuing her career as an independent artist.

The following year, however, Ludacris told XXL Magazine that Shawnna, who appeared on his first hit “What’s Your Fantasy,” had never actually left his imprint.

T-Pain’s on record and on stage announcement notwithstanding, no official statement has come from Disturbing Tha Peace, it’s parent company Def Jam, Nappy Boy Entertainment, or Shawnna’s management team.
