Fans of Jay-Z and Eminem fans will have the option of picking up a special Renegade version of the game when Activision’s newest music-play simulation game DJ Hero hits stores.

The special edition will include the standard game, a premium Renegade turntable controller and a hard shell turntable carrying case that converts into a performance-ready DJ stand.

But most exciting for fans of Hov and Em is the special 2-CD DJ Hero Renegade album, available exclusively as part of the game pack.

While neither disc features the track from Jay-Z’s 2001 Black Album from which DJ Hero Renegade Edition draws its name, the Jay-Z Disc features singles from each of his eleven solo releases, including “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Izzo (H.O.V.A),” and “Roc Boys (And the Winner Is…).”

The 12-track disc also features “Jigga My N***a” from the 1999’s Ruff Ryder compilation Ryde or Die band Jay-Z’s hometown anthem “Brooklyn Go Hard” featuring Santigold. The DJ Hero Renegade album’s Jay-Z disc is the Roc Nation founder’s first “best of” CD. In selecting the music for his half of the project, Eminem took a bit of a different approach.

Of the twelve cuts included on the Eminem disc, only half have been previously released as part of an album: “Soldier” and “Say What You Say” from The Eminem Show, his first release under Shady Records; “Lose Yourself” and “Rabbit Run” from 2002’s 8 Mile soundtrack; the title track from Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, featuring 50 Cent; and “Lady” from Obie Trice’s 2003 debut Cheers.

“The tracks we put on this disc are mostly overlooked or rarer favorites of mine from all different parts of my career,” he explains. “I also put a brand new, unheard song on there so even the biggest fan has something new.”

Em will debut the new song “Taking My Ball,” this Friday (October 16) at 6:00pm on the All Out Show on his Sirius XM Radio channel, Shade45.

In May, Eminem announced that he would also release new tracks available as downloadable content for DJ Hero players before the end of the year.

“Jay-Z and Eminem are two of the biggest selling artists of the last decade and have influenced music, arts, entertainment, fashion and technology around the world,” commented Guitar Hero president and CEO Dan Rosensweig. “Their involvement with the game, especially the Renegade Edition and DJ Hero Renegade album, shows their commitment to being on the bleeding edge of entertainment.”
