Black Eyed Peas front man and producer will.I.am has announced the formation of a new awards ceremony that will pay homage to DJ’s and dance music producers.

 

Will.I.am’s Dipdive Entertainment will co-produce The 1st Annual Data Awards, which recognizes the best talent in the DJ and dance community.

 

The rapper and the advisory board for the1st Annual Data Awards held a press conference in Los Angeles today (December 1st) to unveil details about the awards, in addition to the nomination process.

 

In related news, will.I.am has partnered with The Grammy Foundation for the second year, to present the “Who Killed the Music” art exhibit during The Grammy’s this year.

 

The art exhibit, which takes place at Target Terrace in Los Angeles from January 24th – January 31st, will feature 15 pieces from contemporary surrealist artists.

 

 Will.I.am’s 1st Annual Data Awards are scheduled to take place January 30th 2010 in Los Angeles.
