Those that know Diplo’s music understand that his production in an acquired taste. Diplo is widely known for his work with eccentrics like M.I.A., Santogold and Spankrock, but this “Free Gucci” mixtape may just get him a serious dose hood recognition. The beats are original and they bounce playfully, changing often. Oddly, Diplo’s production gives Gucci an old school feel even though the beats are decidedly futuristic. “Free Gucci” is totally worth your time and hard drive space.
