Ja Rule will host a star studded birthday bash next week at Quo night club in New York. During the party, Ja Rule will reveal details about his upcoming album Venni Vetti Vecci 2010, which is slated to be released this summer. Turntable duties have been assigned to Power 105.1‘s DJ Self and DJ Will, along with “Da Top 20 King,” DJ Mike Neeze. In related news, Ja Rule has landed role in Peter Spirer’s upcoming film Just Another Day, which also stars Wood Harris, Jamie Hector, Clifton Powell and fellow rapper Big Daddy Kane. Ja Rule’s birthday party takes place on Wednesday, March 3.

Rap legend Busy Bee is preparing to release a new album titled Now & Then: Last Man Standing, an album of new and unreleased material. Busy Bee is world famous for his epic battle with Kool Moe Dee and he was featured in the classic Hip-Hop movie Wildstyle. The pioneering artist also had a role in the flick Paid In Full and has been featured on QD3’s popular Beef series. Now & Then: Last Man Standing is Busy Bee’s first full length release since his 1998 EP Look In Da Sky, Who Do Ya See? Under a new deal with Vtech and Wilshire District Music, Busy Bee is dropping a free download of his song “Busy’s Revenge” featuring Kid Capri. Other tracks include “P### Tang” featuring Jazzy Jay and “Got Things Sewed” which was produced by Diamond D. Rapper Pitbull has been announced as the king of this year’s Calle Ocho party during Carnaval Miami. This year’s two-week celebration includes a jazz festival, an 8k run, a cooking contest and a domino tournament. The celebration will culminate with the Calle Ocho Festival, which will take place on March 14. “For me, a Miami kid raised in Little Havana, it’s a tremendous source of pride to be here because [Carnaval Miami] shows the unity of the cultures that come here,” Pitbull said during a news conference. The Calle Ocho Festival has been an annual event for almost 30 years and is expected to bring in over 1 million people. a Rule
