What you don’t know now about hip-hop group’s newest group, The Far East Movement, often abbreviated, FM, you probably will later this summer. Having the # 1 spot on MySpace music videos, a CNN interview, plus an amazing story of going from interns at Interscope to artists on Cherrytree Records, an imprint of Interscope, this all Asian-American group is starting to gain a lot of attention across the globe.“We were all friends in high school, and then we were interning at Interscope, learning the business from the inside, recording non stop, until we did our first show in Los Angeles for a drug rehabilitation center and to bring live music to our community.  It ended up going really well and selling out and it inspired us to take it further,” group member Kev told AllHipHop.com.After being handpicked by Lady Gaga for her Monsters Ball Tour in April 2010, playing London dates with NERD, and having summer dates set up with Kelis and Robyn, the group is really getting the word by touring heavily. “We really pride ourselves on making the live show as strong as possible. We had already done like 50 shows before we recorded three songs. We really feel that is the way to connect with people, where you are eye to eye, and you can interact with people.  We always try to craft our sets as much as possible and to invest in our sets as much as possible,” said group member Pro.“That’s one thing that we learned a lot from Lady Gaga they were both the type of artists that put everything into their art and presentation. People pay for the ticket and took their time to come out and see you.  They are out there for you so you have to make sure you give it right back to them,“ Kev told AllHipHop.comMarketability has not been a problem for the group either as their music as been featured on TV shows and movies like Entourage, Gossip Girl, CSI, Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, Lincoln Heights and Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. The group feels an album is long over due.  “We are just crossing our fingers and hoping it comes out soon,” Pro said of their debut album.  “We don’t want to get that curse of saying your album is coming out at certain time and then it doesn’t. But sometime in the fall.  We have like one or two songs to go. We have Snoop Dogg, Sean Kingston, Lil’ Jon, Cataracts, on the project and there are a few others that are unconfirmed. But we can say who they are just yet.”FM’s last record “Girls on the Dance Floor” was a top 5 hit among several major markets across the country and gained extra life when Fat Man Scoop did a remix of the song.  You can find out more information about the group at http://www.fareastmovement.com
