Veteran Hip-Hop group 8Ball & MJG will celebrate 20 active years in the Hip-Hop game with a star-studded concert next month. Moetown Lee and Richard Dunn of The Muddy Water Group are producing the concert at Atlanta’s Sound Stage in the CW Midtown Music Complex on October 29th. According to a press release, fans can expect appearances or performances by invited guests like Ludacris, Young Dro, Cee-Lo, Big Boi, Tela, Kandi Burress and others. The Memphis bred rappers formed in 1990 and released their debut album three-years later on the Suave House record label. Over the years, the group has recorded for a recording companies, including Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy imprint and most recently, T.I.’s label, Grand Hustle. The concert for 8Ball & MJG is slated to take place October 29th.Casey Affleck has finally admitted that his “documentary” featuring Joaquin Phoenix was a hoax, just as many assumed. I’m Still Here, allegedly chronicled Phoenix’s attempt to break into the Hip-Hop industry. Phoenix made headlines after an appearance on David Letterman, where the critically acclaimed actor appeared to be dazed and confused. In the flick, which features a cameo by Sean “Diddy” Combs, Phoenix’s behavior becomes more erratic. “I never intended to trick anybody,” Affleck said. Phoenix is expected to appear on David Letterman again next week. Def Jam Rapstar debuted its first TV commercial for the highly anticipated interactive game, which is due in stores this October. “The World is Your Stage” commercial was shot in Brooklyn, New York, by famed director Anthony Mandler. Mandler has shot a number of high profile videos, including Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” and Drake’s song “Find Your Love.” Def Jam Rap Star allows you to freestyle over instrumental Hip-Hop tracks by well known rappers and producers like DMX, Fat Joe, DJ Premier, Just Blaze and others. The game focuses exclusively on Hip-Hop and sharing within social networks by using your console camera and video to the Def Jam Rap Star community, where other users decide your skill level. Def Jam Rap Star is due in stores October 5th. The commercial can be viewed below.
