Earlier published reports stated that the rapper’s release had been delayed by one day, but this is not the case. Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island today (November 4th), after serving eight months in prison for a gun possession charge in July of 2007.Around 8:35AM, representatives confirmed that Lil Wayne was officially released earlier this morning. Contrary to prior published reports, rapper Lil Wayne has officially been released from Rikers Island. According to Young Money Records’ president Mack Maine, Lil Wayne will head to Miami for a “welcome home” party at a strip club.
