(AllHipHop News) Award winning radio host/TV personality Egypt Sherrod will host her first annual “Egypt’s Give Back Tour,” a five-day radio broadcast/tour being launched in partnership with a variety of non-profits to benefit the needy. Egypt has teamed with New York Cares, The Children’s Aid Society, Jersey Cares, Hudson Cradle, Toys 4 Tots, The Children’s Aid Society and New York Cares to present the multi-state tour, from December 13th-17th.Egypt will broadcast live from locations in Brooklyn, Bronx, Harlem, Queens and Newark, New Jersey, encouraging her tens-of-thousands of listeners to donate coats, toys and funds during the five-day tour, which will broadcast live for five full hours. “Recent statistics report that well over a half a million NYC residents will lose their unemployment benefits between now and May of 2011,” Egypt told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “That number is staggering! I’ve always felt a sense of responsibility to utilize the power I have behind the radio microphone to serve a much greater calling to help our communities; one that gives a voice and hope to the legions of Tri-state residents whose basic everyday needs might otherwise go unmet.
