Torae Premieres Visual For Pete Rock Produced “That Raw” Exclusively On AllHipHop.com; Talks Video Concept

TORAE PREMIERES “THAT RAW” ON ALLHIPHOP.COM

(AllHipHop News) Breeding Ground Alumni and Duck Down recording artist Torae is ready to unveil the music video for his Pete Rock produced track “That Raw” off of his 2011 release, For The Record.

Torae, who is exclusively premiering the video here on AllHipHop.com, spoke on the concept of the record and the visual that accompanies it. He said, “I think when you hear the title “That Raw,” especially for people that know me and know me as a wordsmith of sorts, know that I like to really try and make the people think. “That Raw” is just being a raw MC, a raw lyricist and giving you real content.”

“When you think of “That Raw” in the streets  you think of uncut heroin or a real raw product on the drug market so we’re trying to merge the two worlds and what I did was give you “That Raw.” If you look at the video it’s almost like a feeling of peddling an illegal substance and what it is is just the lyricism and the lyrics. It’s a real interesting concept and I didn’t want to just hit you with the norm so I think when people see it they’re going to like it,” he told AllHipHop.com.

The Coney Island MC is also preparing to reveal a new series for MTV as well as his “For the Record Docu-Series” in early June. Torae told AllHipHop.com, “The series really chronicles the whole process of me making my album [For the Record] from the conception and the thought to actually going in the studio. It captures way more then me just recording or going on stage, it shows my life and the life of an independent artist and the ups, downs and roadblocks I’ve seen during the year process of making the album. It’s just something I’m real proud of and I think when people see Torae they expect a certain amount of quality with each project that I put out.  This is just another notch in the belt.

Torae’s For the Record, which features production from DJ Premier, Large Professor, 9th Wonder and Pete Rock, is available now.
