(AllHipHop News) Singer BJ the Chicago Kid has officially inked a record deal with Universal/Motown according to a tweet he sent out last night (August 2) and image that followed shortly after.

“Chicago Thank Y’all For An Incredible Show 2nite!! Thank Y’all For You Patience w/ me over the yrs… Time well served. Motown Baby,” BJ tweeted.

He later wrote, “Follow your Dreams man… Damn what ‘they say.'”

Having already worked with the likes of Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Dom Kennedy, and Kendrick Lamar, BJ the Chicago Kid has onlookers interested to hear what he brings to the table on his Motown debut, tentatively set for release early next year.

The singing of BJ to Universal/Motown follows a string of deals being made with Chicago’s current crop of talent like Chief Keef, who signed with Interscope last month, and King L (aka King Louie), who inked a deal of his own with Epic Records in May.

BJ’s most recent release, Pineapple Now-Laters, is available now on iTunes.
