(AllHipHop News) Kid Cudi reportedly has a new project he can officially add to his acting resume. According to HollyWoodReporter.com, the rapper recently landed a role in the upcoming film adaption of “Need For Speed,” which is a popular video game series created by Electronic Arts.
The G.O.O.D Music artist will join “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul, who stars as a street racer seeking revenge for being framed for a friend’s death in the DreamWorks flick.
Cudi’s supporting role will see him portraying a member of Paul’s crew in the movie. Scheduled to hit theaters on February 7th, 2014 and mirror the tone of 1970s car-culture films, the Scott Waugh-directed project will also include features from Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek and Harrison Gilbertson.
The 28-year-old rapper made his acting debut on HBO’s “How to Make It in America” and just wrapped up filming “Two Night Stand,” an indie romantic comedy produced by Beau Flynn and Ruben Fleischer.
In related news, the hip hop underdog currently graces the cover of Complex magazine for the February/March 2013 issue. After he recently vented about label woes, the entertainer spilled on taking “a trip on antidepressant lane for a little bit.” He told the mag, “After the WZRD song ‘Dr. Pill’ everyone thought I was talking about molly or ecstasy. But I’m talking about prescription meds. I had just gotten a shrink.”
He recalled going through “an emotional breakdown with this breakup” and he even sampled “different pills for five months.” Scott explained, “It f**ked me up. They weren’t working. It was every side effect on the bottle. I couldn’t f**k.”
