OY BEY!: BEYONCE’S NEW ALBUM SELLS OVER 80,000 IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS

(AllHipHop News)  There are successful people, then there is Beyonce and then there is Beyonce. Last night (December 13th), Beyonce released her fifth studio album on iTunes with no prior warning and  is already a lock for the #1 spot in Billboard.

According to Billboard, Beyonce’s new album Beyonce sold over 80,000 copies in its first three hours of release. Since Beyonce release her album Thursday evening/Friday morning Beyonce will only have three full days in the sales tracking week for the December 18th Billboard Top 200 charts. However, with over 80,000 sold in the first three hours, Beyonce is already more than half way to the project amount of 150,000 -160,000 units of Garth Brooks’ box set Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades Of Influences who was originally predicted to top the charts.

Compared to her other albums, Beyonce is on pace to be her highest selling debut. Beyonce’s highest debut week goes to her 2006 album B’ Day, which sold 541,000.
