“In my field, I am the blueprint of what I do,” Kim tells Rolling Out magazine. “I’ve always starred in my own lane.”

It has been eight years since Lil Kim released her last studio album The Naked Truth, but Kim says she is not rushing the process to drop her next LP. Kim is holding off announcing when the album will be released, but she ensures that the public can expect to hear some singles from her by summer 2014.

In the meantime Kim’s fans are still waiting for her forthcoming mixtape Hardcore 2K13. The Brooklyn rhymer was scheduled to drop the project on Halloween, but it was pushed back indefinitely. She did release the tracks “Dead Gal Walking” and “I Am Kimmy Blanco” as well as a tracklist over the last several months.

“I just think that my fans — not even just my fans, but even potentially new fans — are ready to hear some new Lil Kim music,” added the rapper. “People are ready to hear real rap, real s**t coming from a female. Because I’ve always been different, no matter what. My music has always been very sexual and very pro-women.”
