ZAC POSEN, ALEK WEK & PATINA MILLER TO BE HONORED AT 3RD ANNUAL RUSH HEARTS VALENTINE’S DAY LUNCHEON

(AllHipHop News) A number of celebrities will be on hand for Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation’s third annual Rush HeARTS Education Valentine’s Day Luncheon. The event will be hosted by Cynthia Nixon and will honor designer Zac Posen, supermodel Alek Wek, and Tony Award-winning actress Patina Miller.

Honorary chair Kimora Lee Simmons, event chairs Angela Simmons and designers Dee and Ricky, 2014 Miss Universe Gabriela Isler, broadway actor Charl Brown, artist Kehinde Wiley, and Grammy Award-winner Miri Ben-Ari are all involved in the luncheon. There will also be a special performance by Tamia and Rush Philanthropic’s Rush Teens. The night serves as a fundraiser for Rush’s education programs as well.

The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation was founded by Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons, Run-DMC member Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons, and visual artist Danny Simmons. Rush Galleries in the Schools, Rush Toddlers, Rush Kids, and Rush Teens work to fill the void of arts education programs in public schools through afterschool and weekend programs.

Every year 2,900 students are serviced by Rush. Emerging and community-based artists are also given the opportunity for their work to be exhibited in the non-profit organization’s Rush Arts Gallery and Corridor Gallery.

The Rush HeARTS Education Valentine’s Day Luncheon is scheduled for today (February 14th) at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. For more information visit www.rushphilanthropic.org.
