His initial meeting with Pharrell came in their hometown of Virginia Beach when Push was just 14 years old. The future “S.N.I.T.C.H.” collaborators first encounter was the result of Pharrell’s interest in a young a lady.

“There was a girl that Pharrell wanted to date and he thought I was dating her,” says Pusha on how he first met Pharrell. “But she was just a very good friend of mine.”

The G.O.O.D. Music emcee’s formal introduction to Kanye West came at the Chicago native’s birthday party in New York around the time the Clipse released their 2006 LP Hell Hath No Fury.

“I performed at the Louis Vuitton flagship store opening for his birthday. He called for me and my brother to perform Hell Hath No Fury. The whole album. For him. I was like, ‘Wait a minute, wow, no problem,'” says Pusha. “From there we went on to make records together. When it came to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he called me. Actually, he didn’t call me, Rick Ross called me.”

Pusha also explains how he went to Hawaii to record for Kanye’s album expecting to stay for a weekend. He ended up staying a month and by the time he left he was signed to the G.O.O.D. Music label.
