Cam’ron Explains Why He’s Not Joking About Wanting To Fight Bernard Hopkins

(AllHipHop News) Age is more than a number to Cam’ron, it’s an opportunity to cash in. In a recent interview, Killa Cam explains his lyric on his song “Humphrey” in which he calls out Bernard Hopkins to a figh

At the end of January, Cam’ron released his song “Humphrey” off of his Federal Reserve EP. On the song Cam raps “Dame said I’m bout it cuz I wanna fight B-Hop.
I said I’ll f### him up after 2 months of detox.” In an interview with Complex, Cam explains that Hopkins is past his prime and the 49 year old boxer attemping to fight a modern day fighter such as Floyd Mayweather  “is basically suicide for him. ” According to Cam, his fight with Hopkins may be the legendary fighter’s last shot at top dollar pay day for a fight:

I’m not even joking. I’m 100 percent serious. I respect the s### out of Bernard Hopkins. I think he’s one of the best. But at 49 years old, you’re basically fighting for money. And you’re not gonna get a bigger payday than fighting me. If you were like, Bernard Hopkins is gonna fight [some random boxer], I ain’t paying for that. But if you say Cam is gonna fight Bernard Hopkins, you’re gonna pay top money to see that fight because it’s interesting. And I’m not no sucker. I’m not just going to go in there and run around.

Days after the song’s release in January, Hopkins responded to Cam’s challenge on his personal Twitter account:
