Juicy J Facing Lawsuit Over "Bandz A Make Her Dance" Video

CREATIVE DREAM PRODUCTIONS WANTS ALL THE PROFITS FROM JUICY’S#### RECORD

(AllHipHop News) One of Juicy J’s biggest music videos of his career may end up costing the Memphis rapper/producer money. Juicy and Columbia Records are being sued by Creative Dream Productions and Mahad Dar over footage from the “Bandz A Make Her Dance” video.

Dar claims he and the production company were hired to shoot the visuals for the Stay Trippy track featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. Prior to the shoot, Creative Dream got word that Wayne would not make it for filming, and the company took that as confirmation the video was cancelled. It was later announced that Wayne would be available, but the miscommunication allegedly cost Creative Dream revenue.

Madame Noire reports:

Ultimately, the “Bandz A Make Her Dance” shoot took place on August 26, 2012. Mahad Dar was the principal photographer for the video and originally the sole owner of the video footage. But he says he would own the rights until he and Juicy J came to a financial agreement and any copyrights could be handed over to the rapper. Dar states that deal was non-existent and Columbia Records released the video without his permission, so this lawsuit boiled down to copyright infringement allegations against Juicy J and Columbia Records. Creative Dream Production demands that Juicy J stop selling his song. The company is also requesting all the profits made from the song and video.

“Bandz A Make Her Dance” has sold over 1 million copies and is certified platinum by the RIAA. The video for the song has over 34 million views on YouTube.
