ATL Live on the Park recently celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month with an incredible lineup of performances including Grammy Award winner Johnny Gill, R&B star L Young, soul singer/songwriter Timothy Bloom and emerging star Devon Stephon. Revolt TV’s Kenny Burns returned to host this month’s edition alongside special co-host national TV and radio personality Ebony Steele. DJ Mars returned on the 1s-and-2s along with house band, Quinn and Jukebox.

The show kicked off with an outstanding performance by R&B artist L Young, who covered “Crazy” by Gnarles Barkley and then performed his own hit record “Love is a Verb.” R&B artist Devon Stephon took the stage next and impressed the audience with his impressive vocal ability and undeniable cover of D’Angelo’s#### classic “How Does It Feel” and Justin Timberlake’s “Pusher Love.” R&B artist Mylah also took the stage to perform Musiq Soulchild’s classic “So Beautiful.” Timothy Bloom won the crowd performing his brand new single “My Diamond” followed by his hit “Stand in my Way.” Playing both guitar and keyboard, Timothy Bloom displayed his versatile musicianship.

In light of Breast Cancer awareness month, Shanti Das and co-host Ebony Steele presented a very special award to a well-deserving recipient. As a seven year Breast Cancer survivor, Ebony Steele developed the “Steele Standing” award to recognize women who have survived and/or are currently battling Breast Cancer. Dee Dee Murray was presented the 2014 “Steele Standing” award and proudly shared her inspiring message with the crowd. Murray is a courageous Breast Cancer survivor and has recently devoted her life to the cause through her new philanthropic platform “The Cancer Queen Foundation.”

Brining down the house, Johnny Gill, from the legendary R&B group New Edition, stole the show performing crowd favorites like “My Body” and “My My My.” Gill livened up the party by jumping straight into the audience making moves on the crowd crooning with both classic and new hits like “Behind Closed Doors.” Gill brought that passion, real vocals, and soul that people remember and love thus creating an unforgettable experience at ATL Live on the Park.

Before exiting the stage, ATL Live on the Park creators Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols brought one more surprise as they presented Gill with an official Proclamation from the City Council of Atlanta for his powerful contributions to city and the music industry. Notables in attendance: Stevie J. and Joseline of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Carl Payne , Bryan-Michael Cox, Juan Farmer, Joyce Littel, Rick Ross(Capitol Records), Derek J, Gregory Smith of SESAC and Algebra.
