The rapper who is facing life in prison because of his rap lyrics has reportedly pleaded not guilty to gang conspiracy charges. Tiny Doo, who is gang affiliated, is facing charges under a California law that allows for the prosecution of gang members if they benefit from or promote the crimes of other gang members. It is believed that Tiny benefited from his fellow gang members’ activities because it helped them gain street credibility, which allegedly boosted Duncan’s record sales.
Tiny Doo, born Brandon Duncan, is accused of involvement in nine local shootings between May 2013 and February 2014. The music being targeted by the prosecutor is Tiny’s album No Safety, which was released in February of this year. Though it was released months ago, the album was recorded in 2012.

“They’re charging Brandon Duncan with crimes that the District Attorney admits that he had no involvement in or even knowledge of. That is the definition of injustice,” defense attorney Brian Watkins told FOX News.
The San Diego rapper appeared in court Dec. 4th and his trial is set to begin on Jan. 23rd. More than a dozen other gang members are also being charged.
This is not Duncan’s first run-in with the law. In 2008, he was charged with pimping and pandering, but those charges were later dropped.
Duncan, 33, has been rapping since he was 14 and has previously worked with Lil’ Wayne.
