Iggy Azalea Earns 5 iHeartRadio Music Awards Nominations; None In Hip Hop Category

IGGY & SAM SMITH LEAD NOMS WITH FIVE EACH

(AllHipHop News) As most of the music world prepares for the 57th Annual Grammys this Sunday, another set of award nominations have been announced. The 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards nods were led by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea and British singer-songwriter Sam Smith.

Both Azalea and Smith pulled in five nominations. Iggy will compete for “Artist of the Year,” “Best Collaboration” (2), “Best New Artist,” and “Renegade.” While the “Fancy” performer captured many of the Hip Hop/Rap trophies at other recent award shows, Iggy was not included in iHeartRadio’s “Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year” category.

The lone Hip Hop/R&B award will go to either Jeremih and YG’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” Beyoncé’s “Flawless,” Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “Drunk In Love,” Chris Brown and Tyga’s “Loyal,” or Chris Brown, Usher and Rick Ross’ “New Flame.” Other Hip Hop acts to earn nominations include Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, and 2 Chainz.

The 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards will air live March 29 from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on NBC. Check out the full list of nominations below.
