Bobbi Kristina Brown's Breathing Tube Removed

BKB IS STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT, DOCTORS SAID TO BE SLOWLY REMOVING HER FROM COMA

(AllHipHop News) Bobbi Kristina Brown is still in a medically induced coma at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital. According to CNN, doctors have decided to remove the 21-year-old’s breathing tube.

A family source tells USA Today the procedure is not any indication on the decision to take Brown off the life support ventilator. The breathing tube is removed to prevent the patient from getting an infection.

“If the expectation is she’s going to be on for weeks, months – who knows how long, the best way to deliver oxygen to the lungs is through the tracheostomy,” Lenox Hill Hospital’s Dr. Jordan S. Josephson tells USA Today. “It’s a protective measure. There may be a slight scar, but in most cases that’s it.”

Tracheostomy refers to the hole left in the throat after a surgical procedure to create a direct airway to the windpipe. Dr. Josephson says this will not affect Brown’s ability to speak.

CNN sources reveal doctors are attempting to slowly lift Brown from the coma. There has been no official update to her medical status, but Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Leolah Brown has stated her niece is doing better.

“There are so many signs showing us that she will be okay, despite what people are saying over the Internet,” Leolah said.

Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of musical artists Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home on January 31. She was later taken to the hospital.
