(AllHipHop News) After dropping several mixtapes and recording songs with Rich Gang, Rich Homie Quan is looking to release his debut studio album this spring. During an interview with Montreality, Quan spoke about his appreciation for his hometown’s legendary group OutKast. Last year, RHQ even stated he and frequent rhyming partner Young Thug were the hardest duo since Big Boi and Andre 3000.

“OutKast is a big influence on why I rap. OutKast is a big influence on Atlanta in general,” says Quan. “I’m glad they got back together to do the tour. That was big to me.”

Besides the southern rap representatives, Rich Homie also took inspiration from an artist from up north. Even though he is not officially signed to Cash Money, the “Type of Way” rapper names Drake as one of his musical influences as well.

“Drake’s one of the best, one of my idols,” added Quan.
