Illa J throws down with production dream-team of Kaytranada and Potatohead People on “Strippers”, the hard-hitting first single from the lyricist’s forthcoming solo album. The heralded Detroit native has been carving out a fresh path from his new home of Montreal, pushing the envelope of his sound alongside a new crop of beat-makers from north of the border. Fattened up by this unique collaboration, “Strippers” is primed to get floorboards knocking from the club to the warehouse.
The self-titled album from Illa J, fueled with beats from in-demand Canadian production duo Potatohead People, drops Fall 2015 on Brooklyn-based label Bastard Jazz Recordings.
