T.I. Speaks On Lil Wayne/Young Thug Feud (AUDIO/POLL)

IS THUG’S “BARTER/CARTER SIX” TITLE PAYING HOMAGE OR BEING DISRESPECTFUL? TAKE OUR POLL

(AllHipHop News) The ongoing online feud between Lil Wayne and Young Thug has dominated this week’s news cycle. Besides Birdman, both southern rappers also have a work history with Atlanta rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris. Wayne and Tip were part of the star-studded track “Swagga Like Us,” and Thugger assisted the Grand Hustle boss on the 2014 single “About The Money.”

T.I. called into DJ Whoo Kid’s The Whoolywood Shuffle show, and he spoke about Thug’s decision to originally name his next project Carter Six, borrowing the title from Wayne’s notable album series.

“I asked Thugger, ‘Hey bro, what are you doing? What’s going on?'” revealed Tip. “He basically responded, ‘Everybody’s making it a whole lot more. I’m doing it to pay homage. That’s my favorite rapper.’ That’s what he told me.”

Wayne apparently did not take the reference as paying respect. He told a crowd at a recent show, “I want y’all to do me a favor and stop listening to songs by n*ggas that pose naked on their motherf*cking album cover.”

Young Thug has since changed the name of the project to Barter Six. He claimed a threat of being sued was the reason for title switch. The album is scheduled for release on April 17.
