During a recent sit down with Montreality, the God MC Rakim gave props to the young emcees dominating the game today, including Kendrick Lamar.
“Kendrick Lamar is…that new fuel and it’s a conscious new fuel where he’s not just doing what’s hot for today,” said the Harlem native. “He has substance and he ain’t scared to make a statement either.”
Rakim also gave his thoughts on whether hip-hop had an age limit.
“If you still hold a pen well and doing your thing I feel that you should be labeled as far as what you do not how long you been in the game or where you came from.”
