For anyone that thinks the East Coast sound is down for the count, may quickly want to reconsider. Meet KontraBand — the NYC-based producer/emcee duo, consisting of Kemal and Haze, are here to kill the noise. Trends shift, fan bases rise and fall, but tried and true music stands the test of time.
For the debut leak off their self titled FreEP, the duo enlist A$AP Mob’s, A$VP Ty Beats to handle the boards on the hypnotic banger, “Bucka Bucka.” With their fellow ICK member, Aaron Cohen on the hook, the video shows us a day in the life of the crew…”from Flushing Meadow to the mother f*ckin’ Rucker.” Although a specific release date has not been announced, Kontraband includes guest appearances from their ICK cohorts, and boasts production from the likes of Ski Beats, !llmind, Havoc, 20th Letter, and Black Noise, among others…stay tuned!
